The kids were hugely excited when a parcel arrived last Saturday; both convinced it would be for them. It turned out it was for our lovely black lab Sophie – her very own subscription box from Labraloot.
Labraloot is a brand new UK subscription box explicitly tailored for Labradors. For those of you who have never had a Labrador, this may seem strange, but I promise you it is not. Labradors are a beautiful breed of dog. They are intelligent, energetic, loyal, robust and strong-minded. They make a fabulous pet and an excellent working dog. They also have the potential to be very destructive ( labs LOVE chewing) and can make for a miserable home without the right training, exercise and activities to occupy them.
It is all these character traits that inspired Labraloot. Labraloot was born with the express intention of providing toys, treats, grooming products, healthcare products, accessories and more that are suitable for larger, stronger dogs. Toys that will survive chewing, tug of war and being dumped in any standing water your dog can find. Treats that are free from nasty additives, and products that have been tried and tested by other Labrador owners. Not only are the boxes a fabulous treat for your dog, and a cute way to say you love them. They are also put together in a way that encourages you to interact with your dog, spend time together outside and strengthen the bond between you.
Contents of our Labraloot Box
1. Gor Toons Wavy Head
Sophie loves this toy. It’s squeaky, stretchy, chewy, comfortable to carry and her new favourite thing. The cat, on the other hand, managed to roll onto causing it to squeak and has been terrified of it ever since – much to the amusement of everyone else.
2. A heavy duty chew
Which is brilliant at keeping teeth and gums healthy (the dogs not yours!). Chewing is a significant activity for Labradors as they use it as a way to self-soothe, which means it reduces their anxiety levels. By providing appropriate chewing material, they are much less likely to start eyeing up that favourite pair of shoes.
These are perfect to use while training and as a reward at the end of games. Labradors are very smart (when it suits them) and benefit from lots of mental stimulation as well as physical.
4. Poo Bags and Sanitiser Combination
When it’s not too warm to have her in the car, Sophie comes everywhere with me. So we’ll often stop off for a walk before going on somewhere else. Although I always carry bags I don’t always have sanitiser on me so this combination is excellent for us – now if I pop into yours at least you’ll know my hands are germ-free!
5. Paw Wipes.
One of the benefits of having a black, short coat dog is that she generally looks a lot cleaner than she is. Every Labrador owner knows precisely how filthy these dogs can get. They love mud and water and will roll in anything! These wipes will get plenty of use.
Labraloot boxes are available as a monthly subscription for £35 including delivery. They also provide a one-off puppy box at the same price for any new arrivals. The products we received in our box are worth this (we checked). But more importantly, all the products were spot on for a lab and her human family. Which means no more buying toys that are in pieces 10 minutes later or treats only to realise they are stuffed full of nasties. The most significant benefit of the box, in my opinion, is it acts as a catalyst to encourage interaction with your dog, which is what dog ownership is all about.
The guys at Labraloot have kindly offered our readers 10% of their first box. Just use the code CRAFTINVADERS10 at the checkout.
Disclosure: We were sent a Labraloot box for free for the purpose of this review.
