Today’s #30DaysWild activity was inspired by something we saw when we were out on our very first #30DaysWild adventure. While we were exploring and making our Sticky Nature Pictures we came across this fab piece of wild art left by someone else. We loved the idea of leaving art for someone else to find, and ever since its been on our random acts of wildness list of things to do.
Today, inspiration struck, and we knew just where we wanted to leave our little piece of art for others to enjoy. Our favourite place to play is Neigh Bridge Country Park in the Cotswold Water Park. We pond dip here, play pooh sticks and spot wildlife. It’s popular with lots of people, especially dog walkers, and there’s even the perfect spot for dogs to swim – and this is where we decided to leave our art.
The spot we chose is actually in the infant Thames River, and although we are down on the river bed, the Thames Path sits above it, so any walkers who look down from the bank will be able to see our little piece of art. Hopefully it’ll bring a smile to their faces.
We were able to collect algae covered stones which looked much darker, simply by looking in the shadows in the same stretch of river.
Of course the kids couldn’t help getting soaked through.
The dog thought it was great fun too.
We love the thought of other people spotting our little fish when they’re out for their country walk, and I’m looking forward to seeing how long it lasts.

We spend so much of our time in the great outdoors but I’ve never thought about creating outdoor art with the little ones so thanks for a truly great idea. You also have a lovely black lab just like our!

How fun! What a cool thing to find as you are walking through nature! How long did it last? Is it still there? Did anyone leave a piece of art in return? It’s like a little friendship message, a smile just waiting to happen!
It lasted a few days, but is gone now :( I’ve been asked to do some crafts at the lake over the summer holidays for local families, by the trust who manage it, and am wondering if we could do a big one then – be fab making one with lots of children. If we do I’ll be sure to take a photo :)

Hi Sarah, we often find artistic creations left in the sand on the beach here, and some are quite creative. I bet it will leave anyone who sees it wondering who created it.
